125 Years Ago Today - The Last Spike

Canada's East and West were joined from Atlantic to Pacific 125 years ago today by driving one last stake into the railroad that changed the nation. Donald Smith, later known as Lord Strathcona, drove home the Last Spike to complete Canada's first transcontinental railway on November 7, 1885.
