Saskatchewan Party Convention Anything But 'Humble'

"We urge you to register early, and plan to be entertained and informed, and share in the glory of the Saskatchewan Party in power,"
(Invitation To Sask Party Convention Delegates)

Humble
/ˈhʌmbəl, ˈʌm-/ Show Spelled Pronunciation [huhm-buhl, uhm-] Show IPA Pronunciation
adjective, -bler, -blest, verb, -bled, -bling.
–adjective

1. not proud or arrogant; modest: to be humble although successful.
2. having a feeling of insignificance, inferiority, subservience, etc.: In the presence of so many world-famous writers I felt very humble.
3. low in rank, importance, status, quality, etc.; lowly: of humble origin; a humble home.
4. courteously respectful: In my humble opinion you are wrong

Saskatchewan's right wing governing party is meeting this weekend in their first convention since winning office one year ago.

There is nothing humble, modest or frugal with these folks! 'To the Victors ... go the spoils' could easily be the motto of this Saskatchewan Party convention.

Political columnist, Murray Mandryk reminds them that along with the 'power and glory' of winning office goes the duty of responsible stewardship.

"It was an intriguing choice of words for a simple convention invitation. The "power"? Share in the "glory"? Toss in a "forever and ever, amen" and you pretty much have the end of The Lord's Prayer. (Interestingly, pundits in the U.S. describe such words as "dog whistles". The term was used to describe phrases salted into George W. Bush speeches that were of little consequence to most people, but often were obscure Biblical references designed to be heard only by the Christian right -- like a silent political "dog whistle.")
Regina Leader-Post

At least half of the province thinks having the Sask Party in power is anything but "glorious". What a ridiculous byline that is.
