GOOD NEWS! Conservatives Down in Polls!

Finally some good news concerning Stephen Harper's government! They are sinking in the polls! That is great news indeed. The minority of Canadians who support them has declined and I predict will continue to decline as long as we watch these beggars incorporate Bush's policies into their agenda. The sooner they are gone, the safer we all will be. Results were: (SES): Con 36% Lib 30% Ndp 18% Bq 11% Grn 5%

If you look at all of the polls in context at http://pollingreport.ca , not much has happened at all since the election. In fact other than a slow improvement for the NDP and Bloc everything else is fairly stable.

Hate to burst the bubble.
Take a look at the regional numbers,
http://www.sesresearch.com/library/polls/POLNAT-F06-T7.pdf"
The _only_ region the CPC lost support was Quebec. They _gained_ in every other region.
As Quebec, and Quebec alone, isn't the "majority" of Canada . . . well, your post is wrong.

lance, I think the fact the tories are down 9 points in Quebec must be ringing alarm bells in the party head office. Harper cannot win a majority in the next election if he is slipping in Quebec. From what I understand they have made no real gains in Ontario either which after Quebec is essential. I don't think his position on Lebanon helped nor do I think this Jason Kenney nonsense helps because guys like me are gonna remind people of the double standard as much as we can.
Kinney needs to learn the golden rule of politics - do not accuse your opponent of doing that which you are doing yourself.

Oh, I agree. 9 pts is a big drop in QUE. The only saving grace is that it's still summer.

Come late Sept. and if it's still like this . . . then the CPC should be worrying.

As it stands though, I don't think any true political minded person can think anything done or said in the summer is worth anything in the fall.

That's why I hope the current Liberal meltdown continues into September. If it does . . . good for the NDP, good for the Greens, good for the CPC.

Cheers,
lance

Moderating comments too, eh?

I have been holding my breath all summer for an SES poll.

I'm just happy to be able to refute every Tory who claims Canada is undergoing a "Conservative Revolution". This polls proves that Canadians are still pissed at the Liberals but aren't buying into all the Conservatives' policies or methods.

Hopefully the opposition will grow a spine now and stop caving every time Harper call something a confidence issue.

Brent - good to see you (and thanks for the button for my site) (had to say thanks). I agree. History will show that Harper and the Conservatives baddly miscalculated what the mood of the Canadian people would be to war and war economies. I think the problem is that they all watch way too much american television (FOX, CNN, MSMNBC, Tucker Carlson, Ann Coulter, Bill O'Reilly) AND as a result, they think that is how the majority of their friends and neighbours think. Wrong. That is why they only have 36% and will slip as war progresses.
